My 4th Of July Long Weekend In NYC

#NewYork
Dear TF readers,

Good day to you all. Last week was the 4th of July, the Independence Day in the U.S. Similar to Paris' Bastille Day on July 14th and Hong Kong SAR Establishment Day on July 1st, we had firework every year as part of the celebration. The only difference this year is the NYC Mayor decided to bring the firework back to the East River! What a great timing for me!

This is the firework from last year on the Hudson River with the
Empire State Building in the back.

And this is the firework five days ago with the Freedom Tower (WTC) backdrop.
Which location would you prefer more?

If you are interested in watching the firework next year, it is best to view it from
Brooklyn. You will have downtown Manhattan in the background of the firework!
Above photo: the Brooklyn Bridge Park, which offers a great vantage point
for fireworks, plus you get the view of the Statue of Liberty.

Also while you are in Brooklyn, DO stop by this
Häagen-Dazs store! You probably did not know,
Häagen-Dazs was actually founded in Brooklyn NY.
And THIS is the "World's First Shop Häagen-Dazs
Established in November 15, 1976."

If you are more of an adventurous type, Odd Fellows Ice Cream would be a great choice for you!

They serve all kinds of crazy flavors from Lychee Cilantro, Guinness to
Foie Gras (as shown in above photo)!!
Yummmm ♡ ❤

It is located in 175 Kent Ave Williamsburg. And they now
have a second location in East Village. Do let me know what
you think about their ice cream if you get a chance to try them : )

On a completely different note...... How many of you have watched the new Transformers movie last weekend?

Frankly speaking, I was quite disappointed in Transformers 4.
The movie director is trying way too hard.

As for the scenes like this one above, where they claim is Hong Kong.
SO FAKE AND NOT TRUE.
This set is actually located in Detroit MI in U.S.A.

However, this scene at the end of the movie IS real, where they showed the
amazing harbour view. To get this view of Hong Kong,...

.... simply stop by one of my favourite spots -
the Hong Kong Intercontinental Hotel.
Above photo was taken on my birthday three years ago.

Here is the lobby of the Hong Kong Intercontinental Hotel. This unobstructed view is unbeatable and is at the top
of my list

Back to the movie Transformers 4. This so called Hong Kong scene --- again
NOT REAL!
P.S. the Dinobots look so ridiculous too...

For those who can't get enough of dinosaurs from the movie, you can now
get more at the American Museum of Natural History!

There are a wide variety species of real dinosaurs fossils!

Even the front entrance has two giant dinosaurs display!

Still not getting enough? How about a Lego dinosaurs??
This interesting Lego exhibit is still going on at Times Square

There are lots of other sculptures made solely out of Legos...

... and in different sizes...

Even world renowned  artworks can be created out of Legos... Edvard Munch's The Scream is even in 3D...

.... quite intriguing!

How about this version of Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa?
Seen in Chelsea Market.

Hope you all enjoy this week's post.
