The NYC Summer Event You Should Not Miss

For those of you who have been following Travel Fontaneously since the beginning must know NYC summer has a lot of fun free activities! Now it's the time of the year again where Summer Street returns! 

Summer Streets, a block party on three consecutive Saturdays in August, celebrates New York City's streets complete with food and entertainment. Nearly seven miles of NYC’s streets are closed to all vehicles and opened for people to play, walk, and bike. This festival also promotes outdoor activities such as zipline, water slide, dance and yoga lessons all for FREE! 

Here are the highlights you need to know:

Since last summer, Vita Coco has been one of the major sponsors at the NYC Summer Street where coconut water is given out for FREE! Here's the pretty hostess on duty last Sat : ) 

In addition, during this year's event, they are giving out FREE popcorn cooked with coconut oil! #Yummm

DJ is present this year too!

As well as a beach stand..

and a swing!

The best part....?

Of course the 300 ft tall water slide in front of the New York Court House!

As you bike up toward midtown, you will pass by several murals along the way...

This is on Lafayette Street in SoHo.

This one locates on 10th Street.

... as well as a few concerts in different spots along Park Avenue!

When you get to 42nd Street where Grand Central is..

..you'll go through a tunnel that is normally restricted to cars only.

Such a fun and unique experience!

Last but not least is another of my favourite! Located on 53rd Street, there is a 30 ft high zip line at the midtown rest stop!
No advance register needed as it's first come first serve!

Paris Summer Street lasts for the entire month while London Regent Street Summer Street held on every Sunday in July each year, but in my opinion, nothing beats the NYC Summer Street!
