Hello readers! Tomorrow is the "
Jour du Macaron" (Macaron Day). I first fell in love with macarons when I had my first macaron from
Pierre HermĂ© ♥
Don't confused with macaroons.... |
The pastry can trace its roots to various sources, from an Italian recipe from the Renaissance to a group of French monks who modeled the dessert after the shape of their own belly buttons. The macaron has been a hallmark of
Ladurée. Speaking of
Ladurée, they recently opened a flagship location in
New York. It consists of a restaurant, a cafe, a mini bar, a macaron shop / full bakery, and an outdoor garden terrace... Yes!! an outdoor garden terrace situated at the back of the store inside SoHo!! So excited!!!
Let's take a look:
This is the new Ladurée, located at 398 West Broadway, SoHo. |
The macarons and pastry shop to your left... |
and three beautiful sculptures on the right.
See that sky-painted on the ceiling? Pretty right!? |
Walking inside, there is a cafe, a mini bar and... |
...a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week. Mon Dieu! So elegant!! |
I was sitting by the window with the terrace view. And that's the mini bar on the left. |
This is the right side of the restaurant. |
Outside the window is the view of the garden terrace,
which is currently under-construction. It will look like
that painting outside!! I can't wait til summer already!! |
Comparing to this Paris Champs-Élysées location (related photos also in "Movie Scenes In Paris"),
NY one is more elegant, spacious and comfortable. Agree? |
Back in Paris, macarons can be found in every corner... |
even on street carts!! |
And being displayed in every form, high heels anyone?... |
This is what I first fell in love with!! White truffle and
foie gras with chocolate ♥♥♥ I wish they have them in NY : ( |
Have a great Macaron Day to you all : ) |
I am munching on my macarons right now. See you all again next week!
