Summer Fun Part I - #BrooklynNY

#BrooklynNY
Summer is always fun in New York. There are so many things to do in this concrete jungle! Unlike Hong Kong, New York warm weather only last for a few months, which is why I spend most of my time outdoor, doing all kinds of the summer activities as much as I can while I can.

First thing first: the discount dining event is going on right now. During the New York City Restaurant Week, you can enjoy gourmet 3-course $25 lunches and $38 dinners at nearly 300 participating NY restaurants.

I went to Nougatine at Jean-Georges last week.  It has a
nice Columbus Circle (globe in the back) view.
The dinner was pretty cheap, but food wise, in terms of
quality and selections - you get what you pay for.
Fair enough.

This is the signature dessert - Cheesecake
lollipop tree from David Burke Fishtail.

Their food were amazing. Unlike others during restaurant week, they give you a wide selection of
quality menu items. Above photo: lobster dumplings (left) and grilled whole lobster (right)
Yummmmm.

If you prefer a cheaper alternative, just stop by the Food Trucks Alley for a quick bite. There are more than 15 different food trucks at the Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn on weekends.

Or you can throw a BBQ party at the Brooklyn Bridge Park grilling area while
enjoying the sunset.

For me, biking around the city is one of my favourite summer outdoor activity.

Above is one of my favourite place to bike to in Brooklyn ♡
Q: How many bridges do you see in this photo?

Riding bike in the city gives you more flexibility compared to
driving a car or taking the subway. For example, I can stop
at anytime to grab an ice cream during a hot summer day.
In the photo: honey comb sweet cream ice cream in a chocolate
cookie cone.  Miam Miam

This ice cream store in Brooklyn offers choices of
chocolate chip cookie cone, pretzel cone and
the regular waffle cone.

And the best part - they have a rooftop!

Here is another great summer food - Maine Lobster (they are NOT from Boston)!!
Left photo: I am munching on a lobster roll like a dinosaur at Red Hook Lobster
in Brooklyn , or you can simply order a whole boiled lobster (right).

Sipping a glass of red wine on an outdoor terrace overlooking the view of
Brooklyn Bridge is my other favourite summer pastime.

Previously seen in Brooklyn.

After the sun goes down, what else better than to watch an outdoor movie with a view to end the night.

"Welcome to Brooklyn. How sweet it is!"

And here are the lists of local fun activities if you are planning to visit downtown and midtown NYC!
