The Art of High Heels Exhibit #BrooklynMuseum

Hello TR readers,

This post is for all of you who are in love with high heels! I went to an exhibit, "Killer Heels: The Art of the High-Heeled Shoe", last month at the Brooklyn Museum. They are currently showcasing 160+ pairs of contemporary and historic footwear borrowed from designers ranging from Chanel and Alexander McQueen to Christian Louboutin and Manolo Blahnik. This exhibit runs through February 15 next year.

If you wonder how girls walk on this pair of "killer heels" from Christian Louboutin,
check out the next two photos...

Not so cool after all now is it! Lol
Here are the "not as crazy" high heels from other designers:

And these are high heels without the actual heels:

 And more...

Enough of the slide show. The following are some of my favorite:

What about a pair of naked human feet? Lol

Is this where Ferragamo get his inspiration from? Lol

By the Chinese. Made with wood, cotton, embroidered satin-weave silk from 19th century, Qing Dynasty.

Have you seen the futuristic shoes? This is created by United Nude (Dutch) in 2010. The shoes come flat packed and are made up of lightweight and slotted carbon-fiber pieces that fit together. A concept for traveling and living in space.

What else can you do with high heels? Apparently you can use it as a hat! Lol

No thanks for me. I prefer the classic glass slippers like the ones in Cinderella from Disney.

There are a lot more other interesting high heels in this exhibition, so I highly recommend you to stop by the Brooklyn Museum before it ends in February next year.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!
