I was in
London, then to
Paris. And here is the third leg of my trip!! I am sure you can tell where it is judging from my teaser photo on the left...
Santorini, located southeast of Greece, is an island famous for its dramatic views and stunning sunsets that will take your breath away!
Let me start from the beginning:
Our plane landed in the early morning. |
This is the Santorini airport and the custom officer booth... so primitive! If
you are holding a European passport like we did, you will be directed to the
entrance on the right where a standing officer briefly check your passport. |
Friends and I were picked up by the hotel's SUV with tinted windows. Did I mention we were greeted by two hot Greeks in their early 30s. What a great way to start our morning lol |
After dropping off our luggage, we went to explore the neighborhood. Every building we saw
were mostly blue and white, which blends perfectly with the sky/cloud! |
Here is the world famous blue domed church, matching color with the sky and the Aegean Sea. |
Another iconic symbol: the bell tower.
Unlike this specific one that I am on which is a decor, most of the bell towers are located on
top of churches. Be aware, and do not stand on it! It is considered as sacrilegious.

Other than blue/white houses, this is another common sight in Santorini: dining locations near a picturesque view. |
80% of the restaurants on this tiny island have an ocean view where you can witness their renowned sunset. |
Even this restaurant near the red beach has an ocean view.
It would be amazing if I can see dolphins too : ) |
Tired of the ocean view already?
Why not go to a garden themed restaurant/cafe instead : ) |
Or stop by this restaurant next to a beach like how we did.
This place has an interesting table stand... |
...and a bird that kept coming for food while we were eating. So cute!! |
More interesting sights... |
Lots of building are pretty run-down which offer a rustic look that is unique to Santorini. |
I really like the white building contrasting against the beautiful blue sky. |
Cute right? |
View from our hotel room.
Thanks to friends who researched and picked this lovely hotel. |
If you like what you see, stay tuned for more next week! Hope you all have a great week ahead.
