5 Enticing Afternoon Tea Sets in London #happyeating

#Yumm

After spending a good amount of time visiting the London landmarks, what better way to spend the rest of my trip than enjoying the most traditional of British's ritual - Afternoon tea? Originated in UK, a relaxing tradition of sipping hot tea while devouring finger sandwiches and well decorated pastries. I preferred going to those fashionable hotels for the seasonal-themed afternoon tea set instead of more traditional offerings. This is because the creative dishes and decors makes for a more interesting and satisfying experience.

Let me start with the seasonal themed afternoon tea sets:

#1. Royal Baby Shower Afternoon Tea The Palm CourtPark Lane Hotel

As I mentioned before, the Brits love to celebrate everything with afternoon tea. In honour of the birth of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's baby princess, the hotel chef created a Baby Shower-inspired tea set.

Here's the "baby diaper" folded napkin to match with the theme!

Star shaped scones. Cute!

And the tea set at last! Overall, I'm pretty happy with the quality of food. They were delicious with the right amount of sweetness. However, with the high price tag, I expected to have the original tea set featured on their official website.

#2. Alexander McQueen inspired Afternoon Tea @ Kensington Hotel

With the Alexander McQueen Exhibition showcasing in Victoria and Albert Museum (until August 2), the Kensington Hotel, a short walk from the landmark, created a special afternoon tea to celebrate with the AM fans.

#3. The "Alice in Wonderland Not Afternoon Tea" OXO Tower Brasserie, Harvey Nichols

In celebrating the 150th anniversary of Alice in Wonderland, OXO Tower Brasserie by Harvey Nichols has a special afternoon tea set. I couldn't agree more when the Mad Hatter said "It's always tea time!"

This is the first course called the ‘Eat Me, Drink Me’ surprise!

If you love cocktails and sweet, this is a place I'd highly recommended.
As they called it "Alice in Wonderland Not Afternoon Tea", it definitely is not a regular tea set
because they do not serve sandwiches. Instead, the tea set features three mysterious cocktails and
delicious pastries (above).

This is the final cocktail serves in a Alice tea pot/ cup and a take home box of Alice inspired treat.

The best part? The tea set comes with an amazing view of the Thames River and the London skyline!

#4. Spanish inspired Afternoon Tea @ Ametsa, The Halkin Hotel

This hotel recently started their afternoon tea tradition, and it is one of my favourite during my visit to London. Created by the hotel restaurant's Michelin-starred chef, this is the Must-Have afternoon tea set with a Spanish twist, serving savory tapas inspired bites with molecular gastronomic pastries.  #MyTop3inLondon

On savoury side: Strawberry and chilled Tomato Soup, Traditional Basque Skewer, Spider Crab Tempura, Iberico Ham and Manchego Cheese Pillow, Pork Croquette
On sweet side: Lime Custard and Banana Tartlet, Charred Sweets, Blackberry Yoghurt, Catalan Cream with Cinnamon, Creme Brûlée with Churros

"Blackberry Yoghurt" - It might look like a raspberry but it's filled with yogurt inside!

If you prefer to stick with more traditional classic tea sets, I also have a few recommendations!

#5. Sketch in Mayfair

Sketch was opened back in 2003 and was awarded multiple "Best Design restaurant" honour. It includes four different restaurants and a bar. Each restaurant with its own unique theme. This place became famous when each restaurant received recognition from different media outlet like Michelin Guide, Time Out Magazine and Zagat. Personally, I prefer the Glade room as seen in photos below because of its forest theme.

With unlimited refill of sandwiches!

2010 to 2015.

Am I the only one who thinks the chairs look like lady finger from the Tiramisu??

This staircases will led you to................ the dinosaur nest!

Just kidding... Can you tell what those "eggs" are??

As you can see the door on the right, you might have guessed.
They are unisex bathroom stalls

Here is the entrance of Sketch.
