Summer Fun Part III - #MidtownNYC

Summer Streets in August
It's been a while since I published my last post. My apology. I just couldn't help spending more time outdoors when the weather has been so gorgeous!

Anyways, I had so much fun in August, and if you are planning to visit NY, I suggest you to come visit in August. There are lots of activities going on, even more than what I covered in my previous post

Here are more:

Each year in August, nearly seven miles of NYC’s streets are closed to cars and opened for people to play, walk, or ride bikes. Summer Streets is a block party that celebrates New York City's streets complete with food and entertainment. The festival also promote outdoor activities such as rock climbing, zip lining, dancing, or getting fit on three consecutive Saturdays - all for free.

This is the zip line located in front of the New York Court House.

This is me chickening out on the platform refusing to jump....

...5 minutes after, I did it!! (Yes! it seriously took me 5 minutes to jump off)

This took less than 30 seconds, but it was fun for sure!

Here is the rock climbing wall right next to a commercial
building... It really looks fun!

Biking on Summer Streets was a lot of fun....

...as you get to ride through tunnels normally restricted for cars only.

And you get to discover 6 1/2 Avenue which
may also lead to Hogwarts in Harry Potter!
haha

Or spotting the "batmobile" in Gotham City... : )

Central Park is another great place for bike riding.

You can stop by the Central Park Boat House for a quick break while watching tourists out on row boats.

I prefer the one with the green...

...as green makes a good picture! : )

Outdoor food markets is another thing that happens only in the summer.
There is one coming up in Central Park (69th ad 5 Ave) on Sept 19th
from 5 to 9 pm for one day only. Don't say that I didn't tell you!!

If you happen to be around the Central Park, do
check out this cupcake ATM on 780 Lexington Ave.

It operates 24 hours 7 days a week in case you
have a sugar craving in the middle of the night!

Once you paid (credit card only!!),
the cupcake will be ready on the go.

This is a secret park with a waterfall between buildings in the middle of the city.
The hidden gem is known mostly by the locals in the neighborhood.
So peaceful and quiet, exactly the place to unwind in a busy city.

This park entrance is located on 51st St between 2nd and 3rd Ave.

Rooftop is another popular summer activities in the city.
This one in midtown looks like an ancient structure with direct view of the Chrysler building.

Also, don't miss the outdoor movies featured in
various locations.

watching "The Shining" with the reflection of
Chrysler Building on the building in the back.

Here is another perspective from the same night.
Not a bad way to end a summer night in the city.

Thanks for reading.
